About

Bambola is a small personal practice born from a love of making, a slower pace, and the simple pleasure of working with clay.

About Manuela

I was born in Colombia and spent more than five years moving around before eventually finding my way to the Tuscan countryside.

For 15 years, I worked as a graphic designer. I loved it, but over time I started missing the feeling of making something with my hands. Ceramics slowly found its way into my life and gave me a different kind of creative space — one where I could experiment, make mistakes, and take my time.

I still have a designer's brain, but these days I much prefer getting my hands dirty.

La Casita

In my garden, tucked away somewhere in the Tuscan countryside, there is a little 9 sqm wooden house.

I call it La Casita. It's where I work with clay, glaze pieces, try things out, and generally make a mess.

The kiln lives in a separate space, where it is safer, but La Casita is where most of the making happens. It's small, simple and probably exactly the kind of space I needed to start making things again.

I don't really have a fixed way of working. I like to see what happens, follow an idea for a while, change my mind, and let each piece become what it wants to be.
